Rac3rGurl (aka Sarah Hughes) is a Melbourne-based electronic music producer, who began creating music in 2021 during the city’s famously long lockdowns. Stuck indoors and fueled by a steady stream of Trance and Techno inspiration on Instagram, she rediscovered her lifelong love of electronic music and started teaching herself how to produce, mix, and master tracks straight from her laptop.

What began as curiosity quickly became obsession. Rac3rGurl dove deep into self-guided learning, online courses, and building out her own home studio. Mentorship and inspiration from artists and educators such as Hyperbits, ReOrder, Phil Speiser, and Psieger helped shape her sound and reinforced her belief that anything is possible with the right dedication.

It was during this journey that Rac3rGurl met fellow engineer and now close friend and creative supporter—Darren Gibcus at Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy Weekender Melbourne 2022—a connection that has become a steady source of encouragement and support as she moves toward releasing music to the World.

Most recently, Rac3rGurl joined the team at Mastering.com to continue honing her mixing and mastering skills. While she focuses primarily on her own productions, she’s also building toward a future where she can support other emerging artists with the same passion and guidance that helped her grow.

Now, as Rac3rGurl steps onto major streaming platforms, she brings a blend of melodic energy, emotional depth, and driving electronic rhythms—crafted for those who love to get lost in the sound of electronic music.
